He is a disciple of Bang and was once expelled from his dojo for going on a rampage. After the Monster Association incident , Garou is currently being rehabilitated under Bang, who has retired from being a hero and is intending for Garou to fill the hole he has left. Garou is a young man with sharp features, yellow eyes, and long silver hair that spikes upward in two large prongs, giving a feeling of a young wolf. He wears a tight, black, long-sleeved shirt, loose-fitting white martial arts pants, a yellow sash around his waist, and tai chi slippers on his feet. As Garou fights further in the Human Monster Saga , his appearance becomes more monster-like over time. The recent return of Garou in the One-Punch Man manga confirms that the ending of his personal arc in the story was incredibly compelling and satisfying. After a long journey that saw him go from renegade Hero Hunter to the biggest threat that planet Earth and Saitama ever faced, Garou's story arc received a resolution that perfectly suits the character and also opened the way for interesting developments in the future of the series. Despite being a villain, Garou was featured so prominently in the series that he could be considered Saitama's co-protagonist. While battling Saitama, Garou also attracted the attention of the mysterious "God," which turned him into Cosmic Fear Mode Garou, who killed all S-Class heroes and almost destroyed the planet. However, Saitama was able to fix everything with a single, time-traveling punch, returning Garou to his senses and his human form.

Despite being incredibly evil in his goals, he is a character with a ton of nuance as to who he is and why he has been led to believe the things he does, something which has made him very loved by most fans of the series. However, during his evil rampage against both the heroes and the villains during the Monster Association arc, Garou was shown to have undergone many transformations in his battles. These transformations made him incredibly powerful and allowed him to fight with the strongest characters on relatively equal terms, culminating in his Cosmic Fear form, with which he fought Saitama. So, let's break down all of Garou's forms in One Punch Man. This shouldn't really be considered a form, because this is what Garou is like naturally. Garou's ultimate form, Cosmic Fear Mode, brought him back to his original size but gave him a more eldritch appearance with nebulae and galaxies in place of his face. Is there any peace other than this!? Later, after being almost killed in his fight with Royal Ripper and Bug God, his power explosively increases and his clothes merge with his body causing him to slowly transform until only his face remains untouched.
