Looking left his hand grasped Mons Abyla, to his right he took hold of Mons Calpe. Summoning all his strength he pushed the two mountains apart opening a rift between Africa and Europe that still keeps the two continents apart to this day. The most famous landmark at the entrance to the beautiful Mediterranean Sea, Gibraltar has literally been a place to stop for the nations of the world since the dawn of sailing. They all came, seen, and all desired to conquer although few succeeded. The rock on the top is older than the rock underneath, a pretty neat trick for rock that is formed from layer upon layer of sea sediment and shells from crustaceans. There are over caves inside the Rock of which ancient people sheltered from the elements. In more recent times visitors have taken to the Rock for a different kind of refuge and each added to its blend of culture. Today Gibraltar enjoys a mixture of customs, a colourful language and a religious tolerance that is unique in the world. We hope you too will enjoy the enigma that is Gibraltar just like the millions of that come to explore the hidden secrets of the Rock before you. Website Design by Piranha Designs. Great views and coffee.
In short you will view 2 continents, 3 countries and the meeting point of 2 great bodies of water. Impressive is not the word! The Top Station is the best place to meet our most famous residents, the Barbary Apes, not to mention the views. On purchase of your Cable Car ticket you will be issued a WiFi code. The Top of the Rock Souvenir Shop is also packed with unique gifts not available in town. The GibraltarInfo exclusive and direct shuttle service will take you from the Gibraltar side of the frontier to the Cable Car base station. The shuttle bus can be found on the left side of the road just before the runway.
Park your vehicle at the Santa Barbara Car Park adjacent to the border on the Spanish side this will save you the long traffic queue to the border crossing at peak times. Once you have entered Gibraltar, continue on foot for another 1 minute 50 meters and you will see the bus stop for Bus 5 and Bus 10 double-decker. Before boarding the bus, you may want to pop-into the adjacent Eroski Supermarket and pick up your FREE bottle of water. If you are already in Gibraltar, you can use your Gibraltar Pass to take Bus 10 to the Cable Car from Market Place or from a stop closer to your location. We recommend you go to the Cable Car first. Get your Gibraltar Pass scanned at the fast-track, prepaid tickets line at the Cable Car station, and make sure you are given the Nature Reserve entrance tickets too!

Staff were excellent, polite and helpful despite working in the heat on a very busy day. Great time in Gibraltar. Signage was poor. One suggestion, increase the gift shop size and offerings. I made a mistake at the park and the staff was nice and changed my ticket so, I didn't have to go out. We appreciate your cooperation. Take loads of water, allow 3 to 4 hours and walk down via the road from the Pillars of Hercules, you go via the Botanic Gardens to the cable car park. There are over caves inside the Rock of which ancient people sheltered from the elements. Ww2 tunnels at the end was amazing. The mapping and information package we received at the cable car was somewhat complicated and confusing, but the pathways on the Nature Reserve walk were safe and helpful.

Very relaxing and excellent outdoor experience for families, the macaques and the cave as well as stunning views. Signage between sites could be better. The Gibraltar Cable Car was worth the cost. The only disappointment was that the cafe at the top is no longer open. Cable car up fine and great views at the top. With hindsight would have just purchased a single ticket. Our recommendation is to visit Gibraltar with our Excursion to Gibraltar from Malaga and Costa del Sol which includes an organised tour with access to the main attractions of the rock You will be accompanied by a guide and have free time for sightseeing and shopping in the city centre. Not impressed.!! Privacy policy. No dangling necklaces and I witnessed a big one jump on a man's backpack while he was wearing it. Categories : Transport in Gibraltar Aerial tramways establishments in Gibraltar. We finally found them and could see them really close. The ride was perfect.
