Gnomeregan is an original World of Warcraft Classic five-person dungeon that has been reworked into a full raid instance. Whether it be from boss drops or quest rewards, Gnomeregan is the source of the best loot in phase two. There are six total bosses in this raid instance, starting with Grubbis and eventually ending with Mekgineer Thermaplugg. Before you jump into this re-worked dungeon, you might want to see what quests you should pick up to maximize your time in this challenging raid. You can find the entrance to Gnomeregan in Dun Morogh, the starting zone for Gnome and Dwarf characters, in the northwestern corner of the region. For Alliance players, this is an incredibly easy instance to get to.

After killing Mekgineer Thermaplugg , take his safe combination and then open the safe nearby for the blueprints. Players can also complete the quest Gnomer-gooooone! To do so, you will need to complete a chain from Sovik in Orgrimmar. Note that, you cannot pick this quest up without already having Rig Wars in your quest log. Grime-Encrusted Ring will, once completed, offer players a new quest chain to follow. The follow-on quest, Return of the Ring , for Alliance, or Return of the Ring for the Horde, tasks you with finding the owner of the ring.

Recently, a hostile race of mutant troggs infested several regions of Dun Morogh - including the great gnome city. Unfortunately, though the troggs became irradiated from the toxic assault - their siege continued, unabated. Those gnomes who were not killed by noxious seepage were forced to flee, seeking refuge in the nearby dwarven city of Ironforge. There, High Tinker Mekkatorque set out to enlist brave souls to help his people reclaim their beloved city. It is rumored that Mekkatorque's once-trusted advisor, Mekgineer Thermaplugg, betrayed his people by allowing the invasion to happen. Now, his sanity shattered, Thermaplugg remains in Gnomeregan - furthering his dark schemes and acting as the city's new techno-overlord. Although Gnomeregan is located in Dun Morogh, an Alliance zone, Horde players can easily access the instance by completing the questline started with "Rig Wars" by Nogg at Orgrimmar. This will enable a teleporter at Booty Bay, in Stranglethorn Vale, that will bring you close to the dungeon's entrance.
