While a solid all-around Fighter, he lacks that devastating Damage that is currently running rampant among the popular Fighters in PVP. Despite having access to an Ultimate Move, its primary function is more about tactics than Damage. He also suffers from average Defense. All of this can make him feel a bit lackluster. Throwing him into a standard Saiyan Team regardless of how well their Z-Ability works with the rest of the Team is not the worst thing in the world. It was the first Saiyan transformation that used god ki and looked drastically different than any previous Super Saiyan form, giving the user a leaner physique rather than a more muscular one and turning their hair and eyes red, rather than gold and green. Yet he would still use Super Saiyan God once in a while —not just as an Easter Egg, but also for practical purposes. In all versions of Battle of Gods , Goku summoned Shenron to ask him about the Super Saiyan God, who explained it was a transformation a kindhearted Saiyan could perform by taking part in a ritual with five other benevolent Saiyans. In the manga, however, Goku stayed a Super Saiyan God the whole fight. While Goku had unwittingly powered down from Super Saiyan God in the Battle of Gods movie and the Dragon Ball Super television series, he did use the transformation one last time in the former to stop Beerus from annihilating Earth. Goku did not use the Kaio-Ken in the manga, however, instead adding one more transformation to the fight: Super Saiyan God. The change finally forced Hit to stop holding back and reveal his full power. Super Saiyan God returned in the manga version of the Future Trunks arc. Goku, conversely, used the Super Saiyan God form out of necessity, rather than strategy. The form was enough against Zamasu, however… that was, until he Potara fused with Goku Black. Beerus then pressured Goku into becoming Super Saiyan Blue for a quick win; instead, Top defeated Super Saiyan Blue Goku with one kick… but admitted he would have lost had Goku hit him instead. Hit had finally turned the tables on Dyspo during the Tournament of Power , tricking the rabbit-like warrior into falling out of the ring. Dragon Ball Super functions as a satisfying sequel series to Dragon Ball Z that quickly makes a name for itself through its Super Saiyan God introduction. Goku eventually ascends to this status through the help of a five-person Super Saiyan God ritual. One would think that this factor alone would make Super Saiyan God the strongest form possible for Goku, but Vegeta later proves that this transformation can also be achieved solo. The clash between Super Saiyan God Goku and Beerus is so intense that the collision of their punches threaten to destroy the entire galaxy. The Super Saiyan God form exposes its user to godly ki, which is a major boost that trumps anything seen in Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball explains that after Goku achieves Super Saiyan God status for the first time he essentially incorporates godly ki into his base form. Super Saiyan God benefits from effortless stamina control and a minimal energy drain. Goku and Vegeta both expertly cycle between Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue in the manga so that they can maximize both transformations and eliminate their respective weaknesses.

Overtime, the once mysterious season pass of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is stepping into the light and revealing what it will hold, but new details about the Dragon Ball Super DLC are surprising to say the least. The DLC is confirmed to introduce Super Saiyan God Goku and Super Saiyan God Vegeta as playable characters, both of which can be unlocked via training with Whis, although in what capacity they will be playable is as of yet unknown. Still, although the Super Saiyan God form was extremely prevalent in the Battle of Gods movie, there is a lot about Goku's new transformation that fans may not be familiar with. In the screenshots he can be seen in this form fighting against Beerus and even Raditz, but there are many questions about how this form will work in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. In the Anime and Manga, Goku first receives this form after completing a ritual involving many other Saiyans and uses it to go toe to toe with Beerus, but it seems a different approach is being taken here. The Super Saiyan God transformation is both interesting and rarely used, in large part due to both Goku and Vegeta learning the Super Saiyan Blue transformation very shortly after Goku learned this, making it mostly obsolete for a while. It is revealed during the Tournament of Power arc of Dragon Ball Super that the God form is easier to maintain than the Blue form, but isn't quite as strong. This form is first introduced when Goku achieves it through a ritual with the help of five other Saiyans; Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, Goten, and Videl's unborn baby.
