As indicated by my previous posts, I am a beginner when it comes to Godot. Can someone please share their personal recommendations as to what the best book is? I've read mostly all the Godot books, and this one is the best. Not only for Godot, but maybe the best game dev book in general. Well worth reading. In my opinion, the best way to learn Godot, especially the most basic, is the official documentation — Godot Docs.

This book will teach you about the free and open source Godot engine. Godot, like Unreal, Unity and other common game engines, has an active community. However, Godot is free, less demanding on operating systems, so you can use it on older hardware, and you can "export" your game to various systems, including mobile, in a single mouse click. It may be free, but it's not lacking in any way. Godot was named after the play, Waiting for Godot , as it represents a never-ending wish to add more features, which would make it closer to a exhaustive product. I would recommend this to anyone who already has some programming knowledge but does not know how to apply it towards making video games.

I would give it the full five stars but the are a few errors nothing major in the book and some of the instructions when working through the projects can be confusing and unclear which can be a tad frustrating.
