I still need to grout the white subway tile I put in my laundry and noticed some threads discussing white v grey. I never considered anything other than white, but should I? I have Subway Ceramics white tile. Turned out beautiful. We chose light grey for a couple of reasons. First, we wanted the tile pattern to be emphasized. Second, it wouldn't show dirt like white or linen would.

Read the directions on the grout bag — let it sit for a few minutes after mixing if the directions state to do that like mine did. Then trowel it onto your tile, pressing it into the gaps. I happened to have a little trowel but a putty knife would work just fine for this too! You can also just use a paper towel for this!

It really allows the outline of the tile to be seen and when looked at in the grand scheme of the space, it pops. It looks more dimensional with the darker grout. But perhaps my brain is not as advanced about these things as others! For me the white grout with white subway tile had that sterile look to it. Like Save. Thanks for the calculation Bill. That's one I'd like to see pics of! Others may have another take on this. These types have expert-level stain resistance and very low maintenance. A good, solid neutral that will work with spaces with wooden cabinetry or more neutral tones. My gray grout has a faint blue tint that is less than perfect and was not noticeable in the sample I had. Our contractors told us again that this subway tile is extremely easy to work with because of the straight lines. Once I made my sample boards and put my mosaic up next to them, the choice for my own kitchen was obvious. Turned out beautiful. Outdoor Umbrellas. Nothing beats the stark contrast of black grout with a white subway tile. Did you know that there are so many white subway tiles to choose from? I happened to pick the wrong light-colored one. The best part about white subway tiles is that if you want to keep the look classic, you can simply use a matching grout.
