When they first met in Total Drama Island, Gwen and Trent , two of the Total Drama Gang 's members, have been falling in love with each other, and been having a relationship of their own. However, there were some moments where they had some trouble with keeping their relationship, including the moment where Heather , a very well-known arch enemy of both of them, tricked Trent into kissing her right in front of Gwen. But, after that incident, the two made up and resumed their relationship, plus Trent had never forgiven Heather for her tricks. But, once in the second season, Total Drama Action, their relationship began to fall apart and grew shorter, at the moment where they were forced into different teams, being forced to compete against each other. After those competitions, Gwen admitted it was time they broke up, since Trent was throwing his own team, the Killer Grips' challenges for her and she needed to win fair and square. Gwen regrettably dumped Trent, and also told his team to vote him off the season to have herself saved. However, Gwen and Trent have been still getting along as just friends.

This book will have all my opinions on the real,fan made and broken couples in the TD Series. This is a good ship that went bad, sadly. What's so good about it? I really expected this ship to be together until the end but things took a downfall. Kinda like love at first sight as we did see them give signals to each other the glance and the smile. As episode 3 had the challenge called the "Awake-A-Thon", Gwen and Trent started to bond and talk about the smallest things like; favorite color, favorite song, etc. This was important as we know that both of them get along and can have a normal conversation with each other and as time progresses, they soon give each other small glances and more interesting comebacks or conversation. Things even progressed as more episodes came out, we see that things get more complicated wherein Heather tried to use her own ways to manipulate and break the two apart. First was reading her diary in front of everyone which made Gwen feel embarrassed to even talk to anyone, including Trent but that somehow solves itself as Gwen needed some time and space to evaluate the whole situation. Even with that issue solving itself, things still begin to go worse as episode 7 makes everyone face their phobias or deepest fears. Here we see Gwen being buried alive and Trent trying to calm her down using a walky-talky to talk to her. Things were going well until a mime appears and scares Trent off. This eventually makes him forget about Gwen being buried alive and as Chris reminded him, he immediately dug her out of it.

Though Gwen seems distant from Trent early in the final challenge, she lets him follow her after gwen and trent manages to prove useful in helping her in tight situations as well as preventing her from losing track when she is distracted by Justin. Gwen doesn't respond to this and simply smiles at him awkwardly, gwen and trent.

The relationship between Gwen and Trent is arguably the main one during the first season and the first half of the second season. In the first season, Gwen and Trent gravitated towards each other quickly and hints of a mutual attraction between the two were clearly visible as early as the first episode. Though there was a point in time where Gwen was unsure if she should trust Trent, he made up for it and their close friendship culminated in a brief kiss.
