Hamster limping, but otherwise fine. A few days ago I realised that my syrian hamster hadn't been running on his wheel much, and as I watched him moving around his cage I saw that he seemed to be hesitant to put weight on his right back foot. I took him out and let him run around the couch, and he seemed absolutely fine. His leg isn't limp, his foot isn't red or inflamed or anything, it looks totally normal. I put him in his playbox, and he was running around, and climbing over bits of tunnel, and acting totally normal but with a slight limp. He didn't seem distressed or upset, he's sleeping fine although he seems to be eating a bit less, maybe, it's difficult to judge , he's just keeping his weight off that foot a bit. I put him back in his cage, and he was limping again, worse than in his playbox, holding that foot right up tight against his body. Then he climbed his ladder up to his top floor, and tried to come down again - but holding his back foot up, it was impossible for him to get down the ladder again So I reluctantly took out his top floor and ladder, so that he wouldn't get himself stuck up there his food and water is all on the bottom level. Over the next few days it seemed to improve, and he was even running on his wheel again a bit, so I put everything back last night - and he started limping terribly again!
