Last Updated on 21 February by Colette Burgess. Last Friday night we were invited to visit our local Harvester to try out the most recent menu updates. Within easy reach of a large cinema and a bowling alley, it is well placed for an evening of family fun. She was in one of those moods where only Mummy would do so even when I tried to pass her to Dave for a minute, she was soon back on my knee! Dave went for a Mixed Grill which is a fairly standard choice for him. We all really enjoyed our meals with clear plates all round and just enough room for pudding!

W e live in an age when much of the fiction we consume is purpose built to not add up. Part of the allure of such narratives is the participatory element: facilitated by social media and online fan forums, every reader and viewer who so desires has the chance to posit themselves as critic, theorist, prophet and de facto co-writer. In other respects, it is strikingly and enchantingly out of time. It is set in the late s, in those final few years before civilisation went permanently online. We are in the town of Nevada, Iowa; the main character is Jeremy Heldt, an unprepossessing video store clerk in his early 20s and an inveterate homebody. Jeremy seems like something of a slacker, but what looks like passivity is only the ceaseless forestalling of unprocessed grief. Jeremy lost his mother in a car crash as a teenager, and since then, he and his father Steve have remained in a kind of permanent holding pattern.

Patrick Sweeney photo. Calm down, calm down, give me a moment and let me explain. A full-auto-rated suppressor is heavy. And it has to be, because even if you do not have a select-fire firearm to attach it to and darned few of us do you can still get it pretty hot. How hot?

His timing and attention were perfect and we had our drinks, and food quickly. But when the bill came I got charged for multiple glasses of fruit juice. On a positive point the service was excellent by the chap who was manager and serving, very hospitable and polite. Shame the chef had not seen the picture, although edible then had been overcooked and was very dark in colour, but not quite cremated and I think someone had forgotten to add the salmon. Last Updated on 21 February by Colette Burgess. Author by. I have only given 4 stars, not for the service but the food. I went for the salmon fish cakes as the picture on the front door and menu looked very tasty. So with the occasion already ruined, I had desided to sit and try eat a raw steak which was extremely difficult to cut and pretty awful! We Went to the Harvester recently to be very disappointed in the salad bar. I was just thinking that Harvester looks familiar then assumed all the new builds must look the same but Ashton Moss is our local one too. Come on Harvester, sort out your website! Emailed a complaint on 19th June, i received a reply promising that I'd be contacted within 3 days. And I would go as far to say that it could be deliberate - especially as a Beth said she gets this complaint frequently, and b if you have been many times before like us, and this has previously been an unlimited option, so based on the menu presentation you assume it is still the case When we first started coming to Harvester, the breakfast was a very good value treat. Go there and eat but don't order steak!

The portion of peas was about the size of an egg cup. Scampi didn't taste like scampi. The value has eroded severely over time - initially it was pretty much an all inclusive price, with a breakfast buffet included. Spend some money on making the outside area attractive; replace the rubbish you call garden furniture and tell people before they arrive that if they wish to dine accompanied by their dog then they will get a decidedly second class service. However the fishcakes had no structure. When we arrived I was told that one cannot in fact reserve outside tables, and that I should just choose one. We booked an outside table because we had a dog with us. Several times, since re-opening after the lockdown, following covid, I have visited The Crown Harvester, Bath Road, Longwell Green, Bristol and can honestly say that everyone I have gone with, on the different occasions, have had enjoyable meals and a safe eating experience. Lunchtime was bust and some new staff were having their first day on the job. Biggest highlight was the fact we could serve our own salad!
