We are in Scotland, and are thinking of travelling down to Norfolk in search of a slightly warmer, or at least less rainy, climate. We are debating between these two parks - has anyone been to both and could advise as to pros and cons for these? We have DC 8 and 4. I also liked the idea of Wild Duck but is it more a camping site, rather than a caravan site? Wild Duck is less camping in my experience and more caravan - they have camping pitches but they're not great as someone who has done both. As a caravan site though, it's really nice. Caister is nice because it's right on the beache whereas Wild Duck is in woodland but that depends what you like. Wild Duck is more of a subtle site, focus on woodland activities which we really like.

Hopton is a heavenly place to escape to on the Norfolk coast. Direct beach access, one pool with water slides and palm tree fountains and a second simple pool for a relaxed swim, plus a family amusement centre and Inflatable Arena makes the park an amazing place to treat the family. Some of the many things to do at Hopton Holiday Village include the epic SplashZone indoor pool, jaw-dropping events arena, The Marina Bar and Stage and of course the gorgeous beach directly accessible from the park. Take a short drive to Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park for fairground fun or hire a boat and explore the tranquil Norfolk Broads. Glorious forest trails and hidden clearings are here to be explored. The beautiful Great Yarmouth beachfront plays host to Seashore holiday park where top Norfolk attractions such as the Pleasure Beach and Golden Mile await. Craving a traditional seaside holiday?

Again thank you for brilliant review and we hope to see you again soon. The park is nice enough, it's amazingly clean and all, but there wasn't really anything to do. Arthur D asked a question Jun Will we see animals at Safari park if it's raining? The caravan we stayed in was spotlessly clean, well decorated and spacious. No Motorhomes. No Watersports. Will we see animals at Safari park if it's raining? Any other thoughts from anyone? The entertainment complex and the restaurant were not super busy like Riviere Sands was last year. Great Yarmouth District. Reviews seem good- looking to book deck house which looks fantastic. A big problem with the site though is that although it accepts dogs, they are not allowed in the main outdoor activity areas, including the rear terrace overlooking the pool, crazy golf, tennis court and Segway zone. The grounds team strive to keep the park nice and tidy at all times and take a lot of pride in their work on the park, I shall feed this lovely compliment back to the team. Again the owners have the upper hand here, my 2 boys were shouted at by several older owners for simply bouncing a ball his site is no longer a site where children are welcome, dogs appear to run freely and outdoor play areas have been removed, it is impossible to take a buggy to the beach along the slope, i also complained about dog mess on the beach but was told to take it up with the council!
