It provides staff with access to mandatory training and professional development. Every hospital had its own training team providing staff with training common to all NSW Health hospitals. An opportunity to consolidate efforts and ensure training consistency was identified. Moreover, each hospital used different methods to deliver and measure training many of which were manual and paper-based. As a result, there was no way of targeting staff with training based on their role, tracking their learning across hospitals or producing state-wide reporting. Implemented statewide between and , it is used by all hospitals, as well as by the agencies which provide specialist health care and support services. Being integrated with StaffLink, MHL can target staff online with training specifically required for their role and record their learning throughout their NSW Health career.
