I see online that their is a Hidea 40HP outboard Brand new up for auction from one of the auction companies. I am well aware that this is the Brand of Chinese outboards that are now re-branded Maxus for whom which are made at the Parsun Factory. I've done plenty of reading up on the Parsun outboards and other than brand bashing I haven't found an negative aspect. Yes boat will easily take the larger motor. I've seen them with 70's on the back lol. Well just bought myself a new outboard lol.

No doubt the "kitchen sinks" will produce some outboards of dubious quality for a year or two, but can I hazard a guess that within years chinese outboards will be the new "Tohatsu's". I also have seen some very negative reports about the importer.

Quite a good price if they are any good, I've never heard of them. Seems odd for a company to trade with a Gmail address though? Sent from my Computer, using a keyboard and mouse. I have been googling around for bad press and can't really find any, there was one guy who said they are a yam copy and the quality is not as good as Yamabisi engines?? RayA Replies. I've seen them with 70's on the back lol. For one thing there is a lack of information in relation to usage on these motors. Hello, can you fix my engine? Please consider creating a new thread. What it will not do is rev beyond idle either in neutral or under load. We have a Mariner 2. They do represent good value for money but they have not been around long enough to see if they will last the test of time. We also ran a 5hp Hidea many moons ago when they were first available here. It's a brilliant little engine and pushes us along at a good lick even though we are scarcely lightweight. Post by harrison » Sat Aug 07, pm. Political Anarchy. Yeah I admit my first thought was to wonder if it was one of the many products around these days where the user manual reads something like "To engage the forward motion push the thrusting lever towards the desired direction of sailing and rotate the fuel adjuster in the contrary direction to maintain the speed of sailing of the motorcraft". When they produce a copy of something it is always inferior to the original, especially if the original has Imperial or US hardware since they have to use metric standard, and copies of castings will always be different. Not to concerned, fuses are cheap and it can still be pull started. Privacy Terms. Please consider creating a new thread. The Mercury on Kajacs is not under threat from any other make yet.
