Set high above the town of Antigua, Guatemala it is a must-do for any Middle Earth fans, eco conscious travelers, or nature lovers. Hobbitenango was founded by two Guatemalans, with a passion for comics and eco-friendly structures. The plan is to turn the mountain cloud-oasis into a Hobbit style eco-village. And they are making progress! At present, Hobbitenango also functions as a a small eco-hotel , with three hobbit homes that you can stay in. So, if you do want to experience this unique stay in Guatemala, you will have to book in advance. The on-site restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so even if you are the only one staying at the property, you can get food up until 7 pm. It really is high. With an elevation of 7, feet 2, m above sea level, Hobbitenango literally elevates your experience to the clouds. However, this altitude can have an effect on your body if you are not used to it, and it also means that clouds are literally flowing through the property.

However, none of them are quite like this place. I had an amazing time exploring this whimsical park. Hobbitenango is a acre eco-themed park in the hills just outside of Antigua.

A lovely hotel located in the perfect location. We visited early in the morning and were lucky that we hardly had to wait!
