Classic, cheap, easy, irksome, iconic, magnificent. That's classic Hog 2. At first glance, this deck doesn't seem like much. It can actually beat all of that. This deck has one of the fastest cycle speed out of all the working decks out there, and you can easily out cycle your opponent's offensive cards with your counters. However, it does take quite a lot of skill and time to master and most of the time, you're only getting a one crown. This deck is very free-to-play friendly, as all cards besides The Log are rare and common.

You should always aim to get good value from your cycle cards, particularly ice spirit and skeletons on defence. You will be able to use your spells to to help aid your units on defence, the log and fireball both have a knock back effect which can be key to stopping units connecting to your princess towers. From the first replay against lava hound you can see that every time the opponent plays the hound you should go aggressive with the hog rider at the bridge in the opposite lane. Hog rider is your main win condition and is a great units to use to apply pressure and force a response from your opponent. Musketeer can offer a lot of defensive value, try to protect her with your cycle cards and never give your opponent spell value. She will mainly be used on defence then you can play units at the bridge in front of her to allow you to counter push. Early game try to activate your king tower, you can do this by kiting units if you use your canon or with the skeletons against a mortar see in the video.
Double can be intense but you need to make sure you never leak elixir when using this deck.

To put it simply, this is a chip deck, where you defend as much as possible while playing hog riders with minimal support for damage. Minimal support includes cards like ice spirit, ice golem, and later into the game, prediction spells. Cannon, musketeer, and fireball are primarily the cards that you will want to be saving in response to your opponent. Generally, you will not be supporting your Hog Riders to brute force its way past defences, but you will be trying to place Hog Riders when they are vulnerable without elixir or the proper defences in hand by either out-cycling or waiting for the right moment for when they overcommit their elixir or if they use their defensive card elsewhere. This deck is very cheap, and this allows you to get back to the same cards very quickly, which is important for defence and offence, like getting to a second musketeer on defence, or getting to a second hog before the opponent gets to their defence again, for example. Generally, it is ok to wait and leak elixir at the beginning of the game if you have cannon in hand, but you should not wait any more than that, since you are playing a cycle deck. Hog 2. Jack is probably the best 2. In my video you can see how Jack handles some of the most difficult matchups you could face while using this deck. Because of the low elixir cost of this deck you can cycle very quickly back to the cards you need to help defend against almost any push. This is also a free to play friendly deck which is one of the reasons it has stuck around for so long. You can support the hog rider with ice spirit or even play him behind an ice golem so that he has a tank for tower damage. So what you need to do is pull the balloon to activate your king tower, you will take a lot of damage onto your king tower but it means it will be able to help you defend throughout the rest of the match. The correct canon placement is four tiles from the river and two tiles from the tower in the lane where your opponent is pushing. As soon as they play their lava hound in the back you should pressure the same lane with you hog rider.

If you have a cheap card in hand and there are some units approaching that are gonna deal over damage, play it! Fireball pumps, attack when they invest and pull everything towards the middle of your arena on defense. Most golem decks will run barbarian barrel, accompanied by tornado and sometimes lightning. In regular time you want to get as much damage as possible, always pushing with an ice golem in front to prevent them from activating their king tower. If none of those are an option, you can log the bridge for chip damage. If you opponent makes the mistake of placing the miner on the corner tile of the princess tower near your king tower, you can use a log to push it onto your king, activating him and adding extra DPS to your defense. This section is about when you should completely abandon defense and go all in with an attack. If they invest a card in the back, cycle back to, and rush your hog in the other lane, forcing them to split their elixir into both lanes.
