Those born with the Role of the Mage are naturally insightful. Introspection and learning more about themselves homestuck mage as important to them as learning the ins and outs of what has become important to them. They have an idealized view of how the world around them should work, and will strive to make their Reality pleasant and bearable for themselves, even when it may not be the best path for others. Due to this, while eager to share their knowledge and interests with those they trust, they may become reclusive if they fall to the clutches of self-deprecation and lack homestuck mage agency, homestuck mage.
Very little is canonically known about Mages, however in my experience it is a fairly popular class for fans. Mages work to understand their aspect and use that understanding to their benefit. Mages also have the ability to sense futures or hidden secrets relating to their aspect. Mage is a knowledge class like Seer, except that the Mage is the active counterpart to the Seer. So, instead of using their understanding of their aspect to guide their team like a Seer would, Mages would use their aspect to guide themselves. For example, Sollux can hear the voices of imminently deceased and can use their advice to his benefit. Mages tend to suffer great loss, both physically and emotionally.

Mages are those who actively seek knowledge of their Aspect, or actively seek knowledge through it. A Mage will often begin their journey with a rather harsh start, as Mages are those who most often suffer in order to fully understand their Aspect. This rough start is often a call to adventure and seek out these answers, though the way this call presents itself is often rather intimidating and sometimes downright terrifying. As such, Mages are known for being extremely resilient - always capable of taking as many punches and blows of many kinds throughout their life, if only for the sake of knowledge. While their passive counterpart, Seer, are those who sit down and invite this knowledge from the world and people around them, Mages are ones who actively experience and sometimes even chase after their Aspect in order to gain that knowledge. The way the Aspect presents itself to the Mage is typically done in a fashion that puts more stress on them, sometimes causing great dread and even harm to the Mage in the process. Whether this is on purpose or not is not entirely known, but either way, it takes a strong will and great courage for a Mage to chase after its Aspect. For some, this chase, or maybe hunt, can be how the Mage fully forms their bond with their Aspect, as well as becoming more knowledgeable of it. As the Mage tries their best to get a grip on it, their Aspect may lead them to places wherein they can truly begin the process of learning. However, the main issue that Mages face is wanting to even go through all of that pain, exhaustion, and possible trauma in order to gain this knowledge. Mages do not have it easy, but they can become important guides and allies to those around them, if only they allow themself to step out of their comfort zone and are willing to experience the worst the world, and their Aspect, has to offer.
Striking a balance between what they can do and what they want to do is vital for them, lest they homestuck mage themselves too hard.
This contains examples of characters from the comic and thus, spoilers. An example: Sollux Captor, a Mage of Doom. Sollux was very far from his role. He was able to know the death and the destiny of his session, and with that information he had to act and do something so their friends could all reach their goals. He was an active player and he had to demonstrate it. Another example: Meulin Leijon, a Mage of Heart. That is something a player must not do.

We just can theorize that: Mages know their aspect and through it, then they act with the information they obtain.

Here to publish updated guides to things like Sburb Aspects, Troll Quadrants, and certain analyses of the comic that catch my interest. Canon-related only, no epilogues. Reblog so it reaches more people so I can see the statistics of each one of them! Poll will last a week! Guess whose Summer Holidays arrived?

Mages know with the information they obtain and act with it, as Downey Jr. Princes, it seems, are devoid of their aspect. However, rarely do they stop to think about the answer. The eggshells set out for them. Maids are the only class seen with two colors not including multiple shades of the same color on the shoes that are unique to the rest of the outfit. Another possible definition of page could also be one who serves [aspect] or one who serves through [aspect] for others. The Witch is an active - class. John can change his body into the Breath, Equius's blood was used by Gamzee to blot out information related to him and Lord English, and Mituna suffered brain damage and is constantly injuring himself. A Sburb player's assigned title consists of 2 parts - the aspect , and the class , the latter indicating the intended role of the player, and how they may use their aspect. In this case, you could count on Life, Blood and Breath players, Heart players will just fill them with more of it and can cause the mage to ignore their Call.
So looking at the current stuff on Mages. As far as I have noticed, there are three general views on Mages. Mages are powerful but have no limiters on their power, thus get hurt by their Aspect.
However, Mages are also somehow protected from the bad effects of their aspect, like how Sollux can die many times but still be alive. He was an active player and he had to demonstrate it. The Witch is an active - class. Heirs could be ones who invite change through [aspect]. Caliborn's Lord outfit is composed of a cloak longer than the Heir hood which drapes over his shoulders, apparently double pronged at the end, but otherwise seems to match his previous outfit, complete with green suspenders and pants which leave his robotic leg uncovered, along with a lime green bowtie, identical to his text color. They have all of these ideas of designs and beasts and worlds and galaxies festering in them, much like any other creative. However, maid could be a possible counterpart to page, due to a page boy being a form of male servant. I have four analysis bites to crunch through today - the Thief of Space, two Page Class segments, and one Heir Class segment. They are almost, perfectly, chaos incarnate. Karkat, as the Knight of Blood, also has a unique leadership role, being outside the hemospectrum, and better suited to pacify a jumble of different-blooded trolls. Three male-exclusive classes were stated Bard , Prince and Lord , as was one female-exclusive class Muse. But so few of us ever actually have the ability to cast wide nets - to catch much fish.
Yes, really. So happens.
Certainly. So happens. Let's discuss this question. Here or in PM.
