I think the title suggest it all but to preface this, I would like to make it known that I have talked to him, put stims in his inventory, tried holding stims in my hand and injecting them into him which completely failed and ended up healing me instead , and searching vigorously to find some tab in the Help section that could possibly give me some hint as to how to heal him. Seriously, how on God's green earth do I heal this damn dog? Look at him and it should say "A to use stimpak" or something similar. Just cause you don't understand what's going on don't mean it don't make no sense And just cause you don't like it, don't mean it ain't no good.

He is a possible companion of the Sole Survivor.

You could stop worrying perhaps. Finishing the game, and striding off into the wastelands with a bad-ass three legged dog at your side is not a bad way to go. He isn't so bad-ass when he just keeps running away. Not by my definition of bad-ass anyway. Gets to the point where its almost impossible to keep them alive without having to save and reaload after many fights. In Fallout II crippled limbs cannot be healed with doctor skill, but u can go see a doctor either the one in Vault City or the one in SF and have ur limbs restored by autodoc I believe that's what it's called? I'm not sure about F1 though..

Dogmeat is a character and possible canine Companion in Fallout 4. Though there is no conclusive evidence that he is the same dog in Fallout 1 and 3, there is a good chance the dog shares his namesake with the Fallout 1 and 3 dog follower. Dogmeat can be ordered to attack enemies and find items around the area for you. You can pick up any items Dogmeat finds by trading with him. Dogmeat does not have the same relationship criteria as other characters and grants no special Companion Perk.
