There's nothing like the Christmas lights being turned on to get you in the mood for the festive season. And there's plenty of switch-on ceremonies across Nottinghamshire bringing festive cheer to towns up and down the county. As has become the norm, there is no publicised switch-on ceremony in Nottingham's Old Market Square. In recent years, since the pandemic, it has been a low-key affair with the thousands of twinkling lights turned on as it becomes dusk on the opening day of Winter Wonderland, which this year is November 7.

All three events will feature a host of entertainment on the stage, a Christmas market, and hot food and drinks to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. The events in each town will conclude with the Christmas lights switch-on of the tree and town centre lights and the 3D feature lights.
