If fast travel is not an option or not desired, the quartermaster at the Rift Imperial Camp due south of town or, alternatively, the Rift Stormcloak Camp due east of town across the lake is the closest resupply point.

Ivarstead also known as Hillgrund's Steading [1] is a small milling town, situated at the eastern base of the Throat of the World , on the western edge of the Rift , built on the western shore of Lake Geir. Pilgrims and travelers often pass through, as the town is located at the beginning of the 7, Steps to High Hrothgar. During the reign of Jarl Gjalund of Whiterun , it was part of Whiterun Hold and exported grain, mead, and honey. Ivarstead might be a cute little town in Skyrim that lives in the shadow of High Hrothgar, but, it doesn't have much to offer for the rest of Skyrim. Speak to Klimmek and agree to deliver some goods and supplies to High Hrothgar.
