I bought a JK a couple months ago and within a couple weeks I got what I've come to learn is the dreaded GasCap notification with the check engine light throwing an evap error code. I read through the forums and found multiple posts with multiple things to try. They smoke tested it and couldn't find a leak, then figured out there was an "ESIM switch that was not changing states". They replaced the switch cleared the code, threw on a new gas cap just for shits and giggles and sent me on my way. I'll just type in their description of how they found and diagnosed the problem in the hopes that it helps somebody else down the road.
