One of the more mysterious figures that have lent a helping hand to the Senshi is Princess Kakyuu, the princess of Kinmoku. She is also the princess that the Sailor Starlights have been searching for throughout Sailor Stars. Once reunited, she helps in the fight against the villainous Sailor Galaxia. Although she only makes an appearance during the final story arc, audiences have seen different incarnations of Princess Kakyuu, as she's appeared in the original manga, the Toei anime adaptation, and even the musicals. Because of this, different aspects of her character have come to light that might even surprise casual fans. For most of the Sailor Moon franchise, whatever the characters were searching for usually tends to be with them all along. Usagi was the Moon Princess that the characters were searching for, she had the Silver Crystal the villains were looking for, and she was the Messiah that the Outer Senshi were looking for. In the Stars story arc, when it's explained that the Sailor Starlights are searching for a princess themselves, casual viewers could assume that it will once again turn out to be Usagi. Princess Kakyuu proves to be an exception to the rule since, not only is she a completely different character, she's not someone the viewers had met before she makes an appearance. That said, she isn't completely unconnected to the established characters, as Chibi-Chibi was helping her hide. As another princess in the series, Princess Kakyuu serves as a counterpart to Princess Serenity. Like Sailor Moon, she is a leader of a group of Sailor Senshi.
Many times, her mystical scent of pure goodness and light was detected by the Three Lights whenever Chibi Chibi who was in possession of her holy incense burner was near them.
