The festival of lights and happiness, Diwali, was celebrated at our Amrita Vidyalayam on October 28, with much joy and excitement. The school lobby was decorated with beautiful rangolis, house-boards, colourful lanterns and lights. The celebration commenced with the lighting of the diya followed by prayer. The Principal spoke briefly about the festival of Diwali, encouraging students to spread the message of love and brotherhood. They made everyone aware of the dangers of air pollution, noise pollution and accidents caused by crackers, and persuaded all to use eco-friendly fire crackers. Diwali card and diya decorating competitions were also conducted as part of the celebrations. Sweets were distributed to all the children and staff, and children wished Happy Diwali to each other.
