At Lassonde, you get the best of both worlds — discover your passion with exposure to all our engineering disciplines in our foundation year or, if you already know what you want, lock-in your specialization with our Engineering Program Guarantee, part of our optional Boost co-application. Whatever option you choose, you will join our common Engineering foundation year, and specialization courses begin in your second year. However, you can secure a spot in your preferred Engineering program before you accept your offer of admission. You can apply to change programs for your second year. Our Boost co-application allows you to indicate your choices for the Engineering Program Guarantee process. We will send you a personalized link to access the co-application after you apply. All engineering programs are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. Co-op is available to all Engineering students after your second year and does not require a separate application. This program has a co-application where you can provide us with your top 3 engineering program preferences. If you are interested in either Computer Engineering or Software Engineering, you will be required to complete the co-application. Students in Engineering begin their studies with a foundational common first-year. The first-year courses in applied mathematics, physical sciences, programming and engineering design, ethics and communication provide a strong base for branching out into the engineering majors. While you are learning these engineering fundamentals, the common first-year allows you to explore the variety of engineering majors available, before you commit to a particular area for your second year.
