Lawn sand bunnings
We have an issue with the grass levels on ONE 1 side of our driveway. As you will be able to see in the picture.!!
Have recently had a new lawn installed and have fully got the big for wanting to maintain a pristine lawn! Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community newlawnaddict. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about top-dressing a lawn. You could either use a pre-mixed top-dressing product or sand. Coarse landscape sand can be used, though it can tend to develop a bit of a crust that needs to be broken up. Alternatively, I've just top-dressed my lawn with play sand , partly because it is triple-washed and the most budget-friendly option. I picked up around 15 bags for my front lawn, but after doing so, I realised I would have been much better off getting a bulk delivery.

Often the best way to fix a muddy lawn is by installing underground sub-surface drainage. Sponsored Post. Decide where to put your drain, and then dig your trench. The rule of thumb is that your pipe should have a space equal to its own width on either side, and at least mm from its top to the finished level before the turf is replaced. Use your level to ensure that the trench is falling slightly in the required direction. Lay your pipe in the trench, ensuring it is sitting on the trench bottom. Use your level to check that the fall is correct. Cover with gravel to about 20mm below the existing surrounding soil level.

Using sand to level out your lawn pretty much follows the same logic. With the right sand, you can give your grass a new lease of life and help fill in any low spots or worn patches. Helping out with compaction and drainage, a layer of sand can make a pretty big difference in the appearance and durability of your lawn. But, sand mixtures are not a one size fits all solution. Let me get straight to the point: the best type of sand for lawn leveling is dry fine grit sand.
