If you love getting away from it all but prefer to keep off the beaten track, Lee Wick Farm is waiting for you. This petite yet pretty site in the north Essex countryside offers a variety of cute, cosy, and rather unusual accommodation on a working potato farm! Sleeping two adults and two children, these arched cabins have everything you need for your stay, all wrapped up in a neat, wooden package. Your MegaPod enters into a small but practical living area. Forget campfire cooking — here you have a toaster, kettle, fridge, microwave and sink for simple self-catering. Outside is a large deck for making the most of the fresh country air. These former shipping containers have been given a new lease of life as glamping homes! Again sleeping two adults and two children, the CargoPods offer all the facilities of the MegaPod, but with the added luxury of a little more space. And in this case, Mum and Dad can enjoy their own separate bedroom! Local activities Historic architecture, birdwatching, beaches, zoo, castle, walking, cycling, fishing, horseriding. For a small additional fee, each CargoPod has the luxury of its own log-fired hot tub on the decking. These unique structures are situated close to the livery yard and are very luxurious — akin to a hotel room, but in a field! Relax and unwind in your own private log-fired hot tub, and enjoy some real home comforts and touches, such as cosy underfloor heating, mood lighting and Bluetooth sound systems.

Osyth, UK. We finally set our foot with our most glamorous cabins also to the United Kingdom. With the help of amazingly sunny British weather we managed to setup all of our 4 Suites in a record 15 days. Our Lushna cabins are rugged on the outside but offer great comfort inside. Floor to ceiling glass maximises the panoramic coastal views.

Now that the weather has turned autumnal, it seems strange to think that just over a month ago we were sunning ourselves on the sandy beaches of Essex! On arriving, my son was delighted to discover that our next door neighbour or neigh-bour! Checking in to our megapod was an easy experience, with a keycode box on the front of the pod allowing us instant access to our home for the next two days, megapod 3. The pod was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay, and housed its own little WC and shower wet room which was especially handy when staying with a 5 year old! There was a lovely little kitchenette with microwave, mini fridge, kettle and sink, a Bluetooth speaker to get the party going, and a cosy double bed plus double sofabed. After exploring the surroundings and enjoying a picnic tea on our deck, we sat back and relaxed, watching the first stars of the evening emerging above our cosy pod. The hot tub had warmed up to a toasty temperature, and was the perfect way to wind down after a busy day. We then headed to the newly refurbished Walton Pier a little further along the beach, for a few obligatory rides and arcade games. On our return, once the smallest member of our party was in bed fast asleep dreaming of his empire of sandcastles, we hopped in the wood-fired hot tub again for a relaxing soak whilst attempting to identify the many emerging stars in the darkening sky finally resorting to an app!
