Developed by Dr. Louisa Moats and leaders in the field of literacy, LETRS teaches the skills needed to master the foundational and fundamentals of reading and writing instruction—phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and written language.

We have continued to see a need for this professional development, and have begun preparing for the school year as well. Because of the high number of training sessions, Dallas is focusing the majority of her time on Volume 1, while Claudine is supporting Volume 2. For our multiple district Cohort, we will again present together. Along with our trainings, we had the opportunity to partner with Wayne State College to provide continuing education credits for participants. The New Hampshire Department of Education is excited to announce the launch of its new Leaning Into Literacy initiative , which aims to create literacy champions and advance reading skills among New Hampshire youth. The purpose of these professional learning opportunities is to increase capacity for providing and overseeing reading instruction and Structured Literacy based on the science of how children learn to read. The ultimate objective is to create improved student outcomes and overall academic achievement through prevention of and intervention for reading difficulties, and to identify pupils who struggle to read.
