Heather, seeking to exploit Lindsay's apparent lack of smarts, recruits her along with Beth into an alliance which Heather says she plans to take with her into the late stages of the competition as the final three contestants. Despite her intellectual weaknesses, Lindsay also has several strengths to her credit, one of the most notable being her skills in water skiing, which she uses to help the Gophers win a challenge. She also develops a crush on Tyler and they quickly develop a romantic relationship, which Heather interprets as a betrayal because Tyler is on the rival Killer Bass team, and Heather warns Lindsay to either dump Tyler or risk getting kicked out of the alliance. Lindsay publicly agrees to do so, but she defies Heather by secretly seeing Tyler behind her back, and she continues to maintain her crush on Tyler after he gets voted off for failing a challenge. Lindsay is initially oblivious to Heather taking advantage of her for her own personal gain under the guise of "friendship", but she starts to become more aware of Heather's true nature over the course of the competition, particularly after one incident where Heather threatens to cut off Lindsay's long hair while she slept as a result of Lindsay siding with Leshawna against Heather while pranking Heather during a cooking challenge. Lindsay becomes the 16th camper to be voted off the island on TDI when, thanks to a betrayal by Heather, she is the last player to cross the finish line in a bicycle-racing challenge and, per a pre-race stipulation, she is automatically eliminated from the competition without a campfire ceremony. When Heather displays a non-chalant attitude toward Lindsay's elimination, Lindsay finally loses her temper and she lets Heather have it with a verbal tirade that ends with her cursing at the snobby girl and giving her "the finger" both censored by the animators , to the delight of the witnessing campers. She subsequently reunites with Tyler at the Playa de Losers luxury resort where the eliminated contestants are staying, but she is still unable to get his name straight or figure out who he is when she keeps calling other players by his name. Lindsay quickly gets her revenge against Heather during a Triple Dog Dare challenge late in the game when Heather ends up drawing Lindsay's dare—getting her head shaved by Chef Hatchet , which she thought up in retaliation for Heather's earlier threat to cut off Lindsay's hair; Heather refuses the dare by kicking the hair clippers out of Chef's hand, but she ends up partially bald anyway when the clippers come back down on her and, by her refusal of Lindsay's dare according to the rule of the challenge, Heather is automatically eliminated.
