My biggest challenge was to combine my artist brand with my teaching brand.
It was five years into her pursuing art seriously. She had returned to England after living abroad in America, had turned 50 and realized that she wanted pursue her passion: art. Just play. Growing up in Yorkshire, my time was split between exploring the great outdoors and making art. Early on, I knew I wanted to continue pursuing my passion which led me to study art in college. But now I understand that leaving my home somehow disconnected me from myself. As I struggled to adapt and fit into new cultures—first Canada and then the US—. This time, I vowed not to lose myself or my art ever again and I embarked on a program of study and consistent daily painting practice. Over the years, my work has shifted from representational landscapes to expressive abstracts, but the goal has remained the same:. My expressive abstract paintings inject life and excitement in any space, drawing in my fellow highly sensitive deep thinkers.

For Fletcher, a series may take a month or it may take two years. She knows there will be another. She then uses an orbital sander to remove layers and create textures. As Fletcher has moved into more non-representational work, she leans harder into this trust. That trust has allowed her to make work that is wholly hers. First, Fletcher wants to create a place where she can work the way she works best. And that's the constant challenge that I have. That trust is implicit in everything Fletcher does in the studio. And while the process she works throught o create paintings is always changing, the trust she has in herself and in it, does not. This is part of Fletcher trusting her process. And so she keeps working. Except for a select few. You are also super-responsive and easy to work with in terms of feedback.

And that's the constant challenge that I have. She knows there will be another. How do you feel now that the project is over about moving forward? And this sounds a bit woo woo but I really think paintings want to come out of you. I made sales pages for my new collection and a book, and both were so easy to create.
