Lush lord of misrule

The Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb is a pastel-green, Halloween ballistic that has a strong, musky and spicy herbal scent. Its long list of ingredients contains both patchouli and black pepper oil so it is quite an acquired taste. I am not huge fan of patchouli but I always try a Lush product at least once. Unlike any other Lush bath bomb, Lord of Misrule has its own unique design. As soon as I plopped the Lord of Misrule bath bomb into my bath water the bath bombs colourful and foamy magic unfolded right before my eyes. A huge amount of green froth bubbled up to the top of my bath water and the bath bomb then began to bob around, spinning slowly.

The black pepper is a treat on the top, adding a wildness to an otherwise simple combination. But the greyish fuzz of minerals and space dust eventually burns off, revealing a sumptuous patchouli amber so rich you can almost feel it as a weight on your skin. Lord of Misrule by Gorilla Perfumes [Lush] is pretty much classic Lush as old fans know it, rustic to a fault and stuffed with hippy-dippy notes like a full, natural patchouli that cries "head shop" in the worst way to the mayonaise-eaters of gentrified society. In this regard, it feels like Lush is recycling a few ideas from previous perfumes in Lord of Misrule, most notably the bright, Coca Cola-ish marmalade-myrrh accord from Kisses Deep and the burnt sugar notes from All Good Things. Wear time at "perfume" strength effectively extrait de parfum is super long and over 12 hours, wearing close as expected and absolutely not to be used in summer unless you want to smell unwashed. This is called Frosting and is a unique and natural effect of using vegetable waxes. This of course can always change, as Lush has a habit of really pushing their sweeter, more vanillic, and floral scents over anything darker like this, as I think that comprises the bulk of what the brand sells in perfume form. Unfortunately, squaking doesn't keep things on shelves, sales do, so all the yammering in the would can't keep the Lord of Misrule from being dethroned if people aren't taking bottles of his smelly water home. The opening smells like black pepper but only if you imagine a handful of black pepper powder being blown at you through the sweet, glittery miasma of mica and minerals that hovers around the bath bomb wall at Lush. The second, a wet, syrupy-sweet accord that smells a little like the Coca Cola syrup you mix with seltzer in a Soda Stream.
