Lux sensor zigbee

I want to use the Aqara Motion Sensor including illuminance sensor to control my lights. The general setup is working fine and all motions and the illuminance are reported to openhab and furthermore to my items. This value reported in my setup is usually between 0 lux sensor zigbee 1, even if it is bright.

Is there any nice lux reading sensor for outdoors? I have a weather station that have almost everything but one thing it does not have is read how bright it is outside. I was thinking it can be fun to read Lux and maybe even UV. I have Mhz,Zigbee,Z-wave and wifi connect to my Home assistant. This gives a decent lux reading. ATG rooftop data washington. HA is awesome for integrating this DIY stuff.

Pair directly with Hubitat no Hue bridge required. Fast reaction on motion. The above would be my recommendation if you want something outdoor rated. The only two other products I'm aware of are the Sensative Strips Comfort temperature and lux; not cheap and no replaceable battery, even though it's supposed to last a long time and the Zooz ZSE29 motion and lux; I think this one reports actual lux values; I know their indoor 4-in-1 reports percentages and isn't super-useful for some thresholds. Otherwise, what I've done is use readings from a sensor that is actually indoors, in a window and facing outside. The Dome, Fibaro, Hue even indoor , and Inovelli sensors all lux sensors that have worked well for me. The Zooz 4-in-1 technically has one too, but I don't find it great for this application. FInally, you could do what I also did: I got a weather station Ambient Weather WS, in my case, but a few other models work too, as does an Ecowitt Gateway with any compatible sensor over the holidays, which as a built-in lux sensor I'm pushing data from to my hub via a custom driver. Outdoor-rated, for sure, and not subject to any mesh network oddities that may haunt an outdoor sensor if it's far from your hub. On the Amazon page it doesn't say much about light level, or temperature. That said it looks the business. There's no integrated hygrometer. But there is an integrated temperature sensor, and an integrated lux sensor, which Hue calls their "dawn to dusk" sensor. Be aware that lux readings are provided every 5 minutes - even if the change occurs more rapidly than that my bad, I had disabled more rapid lux reporting.

The tuya device are junk IMHO, no understanding of lux scale, no support, lux sensor zigbee, no firmware revisions. The only bad thing is, that the value often is 0. Andremain Andreas Christodoulou April 24,pm 8.

As the title says. Are there any budget light lux sensors about 20 - 25 euros preferably zigbee that work locally on smartthings? The only lux sensor I know of that might have a local operation is the Sensative zwave strip. So not local at this time. The Aqara light sensor and the hue multi sensor are other zigbee multi sensors that work with smartthings, but also require custom code.

Anyone have any recommendations? The Xiaomi Mijia light sensor is rather nice. Compact, clean, and long battery life. From what I found so far: there is not much out there ready-made, the Hue one is OK but not very sensitive in the low light areas, the xiaomi one for me quite expensive but still just OK-ish and others way too expensive for my purpose. On my purpose, driving insight lights depending on outside light, I am now focusing on a home-built one with esp…but this is a project with low er prio so cannot share any progress yet. But then it only goes to lux.

Looking for a sensor that would register the amount of light in a room, and if its below a number the lights in the room would turn on when a door is opened. Zigbee, cheap, reliable, and works well. The new device automatically pops up in HA but the battery and the illuminance levels are unknown. Looking at the gateway log, I can see that the correct levels are broadcasted and received in HA. The issue at that time was due to the XiaomiGatyway3 integration version v. Opposed to other solution you can also freely configure the update interval or even force an update like when the reed or whatever sensor from the door is triggered. Ok, good to know! But if it were necessary to be in plain view, a very small plastic project box with a hole for light above the BH sensor would work. Due to pet dog activity, the power sometimes comes unplugged. The D1 Mini and sensor are small indeed.

Burningstone January 5, , pm I know they made a lot of feature additions. Removed battery, removed device, started fresh. A typical smart bulb will give off or lm. Contact Supplier Chat now. If you keep your Zigbee network free of incompatible repeaters and bulbs, there are some Xiaomi devices that are actually quite stable. Reload to refresh your session. Extra points if it also works outside. I replaced all of my bulbs with Sengled ones and after I have installed an acceptable light sensor, I am going to work on replacing the 2 other hubs that I have for motion switches and motion sensors. The LAN driver I have reads those from the hub. Lux meter trips at 70 lux, power sense smart plug detects current draw, you will need the led light wired into the lux sensor so power can be drawn. Be aware that lux readings are provided every 5 minutes - even if the change occurs more rapidly than that my bad, I had disabled more rapid lux reporting. For just lux, a Z-Wave or Zigbee sensor with lux might be better, and I see there are lots more suggestions above now.

When it comes to home security, there are many different options available.

I then use a Xiaomi Aqara Temperature, humidity and pressure sensor hanging in my open porch. Any recommendations? Is it just a matter of time before it gets flaky and should I just move the Samsung and replace with the IKEA extender? They never dropped off. I'm confused by your post. True outdoor sensor. Thank you. Shaad David January 6, , am The Sensative Strips provides Temperature and Lux. I agree with you. Also, I note that there can be max and min limits specified, but I hope a 1, lux limit is not specified. I have a weather station that have almost everything but one thing it does not have is read how bright it is outside. But I think this is just how accurate this sensor is. I just put in a couple of Hue outdoor motion sensors. All reactions.
