Every once in a while something special gets leaked that you are thankful for because it's a personal song that clearly was unable to fit thematically on an album and therefore never got an official release. But somehow, through the dubious business of leaking music, it has arrived at your door. Such is the case of Mac Miller's Balloonerisms , a thought-to-be album that was scrapped during the making of Faces which is an album many people, myself included, consider his best. Mac Miller having a sister project to his best album is something that you'd think would make news and become extremely well known the moment the information went public. However, that was not the case. It's likely that you don't know about Ballonnerism as it's not on YouTube, streaming services, and, amongst my friend group at least, no one has heard of it. I myself just heard of it less than three months ago. When I found it, I couldn't believe it was real. Balloonerisms is an almost-complete album that contains Mac's saddest lyrics, which is saying something. It seems like it's still a secret to most of the hip hop community including many of his own fans. If you know Mac's discography, you know that Faces is considered his magnum opus.
