Each edition of the Mad Cool Festival brings together leading figures from the national and international music scene in a large outdoor space that has turned Madrid into a city of reference for large-format live music. Taking place across four days next summer, the opening Wednesday of the event will see pop icon and Grammy winner Dua Lipa headline. The following day Thursday, July 11 , will see grunge icons Pearl Jam take to the stage as headliners — six years since they last appeared at the Madrid festival. Pop-punk veterans Sum 41 will headline the penultimate day, alongside Jessie Ware and Tom Morello , the latter being famous for his role as a guitarist for Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave. Mad Cool has announced its first wave of artists for its iteration. The festival will take place in the Villaverde district in Madrid from July 10th to the 13th. It will feature national and international acts across seven stages. It will be the seventh time the festival has been held and will see the return of several artists: rock icons Pearl Jam , rock powerhouse Greta Van Fleet , pop superstar Dua Lipa , and British rockers Nothing But Thieves. Alongside household names is the important act of Motxila 21 , a band composed of fifteen young members with Down Syndrome and seven members who are volunteers.
