Players take on the role of Sgt. Players are able to customize their weapons, such as adding a telescopic sight to a M1 Garand rifle and a drum magazine for a Thompson submachine gun, although these upgrades are only available on certain levels. At the start of each of the operations, players parachute onto a battlefield with the exception of a glider insertion at the start of the Invasion of Normandy and can roughly designate where they land. Players who land at certain points in a level will be able to pick up weapon upgrades and ammunition. Missions can be played out in different ways depending on where the player lands and which weapons the player obtains. Content-wise, both versions of the game are the same. However, the Wii version implements the Wii Remote to accomplish such movements as crouching, jumping, making quick turns, weapon strikes, reloading, and shooting.

The field you're about to parachute into is chock full of enemy activity, which is why the location you land in is highly important, as it can be the difference between survival or becoming worm food. Of course, there are near an unlimited amount of ways to go about this portion, but we've outlined the route we found to be the most effective below. As you're dropping, aim for the small green gas cloud in the bottom left corner in the water. Attempt to land just behind an object you can use for cover, such as the plane debris scattered about, to prevent being torn to shreds. Upon landing, collect the Weapon Upgrade , located amongst some debris few feet south of the green cloud, for a rifle scope. Look for one on both the upper and lower floors. Now that the tower's soldiers have been eliminated, it's time to make your way inland. It's best to keep pace with your squad, as they'll push forward only when the field is relatively safe.
