My Hero Academia has finally uncovered the terrifying origins of its diabolical antagonist All For One and it is darker than anything fans could have ever imagined. The series finally explores All For One's birth and early childhood and may be a harbinger of the darker tone the series may adopt going forward. Chapter of My Hero Academia reveals that All For One and his brother Yoichi were orphaned as infants as their mother passed away soon after giving birth to them, leaving the two to fend for themselves. The chapter is uncharacteristically graphic and gory as it goes on to discuss how both the mother's corpse and the twins were almost gnawed on by rats, adding to Yoichi and All For One's tragic origin story. While My Hero Academia has no shortage of tragic backstories and dark villain origin stories, the tragic circumstances accompanied by the eerily hyper-realistic art style of the chapter help his backstory stand out as one with a distinct tone, the likes of which the series has never displayed before. All For One's backstory is a true villain origin story in every sense of the word, which only gets all the more terrifying as the chapter progresses, as readers see kid AFO use the Quirk he stole from his mother to violently slaughter several soldiers.

Warning: Spoilers for My Hero Academia, Chapter My Hero Academia 's greatest villain, All For One, has just been dealt a crippling blow that seems to have ended the fight, and the circumstances of his defeat are extremely similar to those at the end of another amazing battle in the series: The Paranormal Liberation War. The scene echoes the ending of the Paranormal Liberation War arc by emphasizing that this victory wasn't the work of one person, even if Bakugo dealt the finishing blow. He attempts to work up the power to do so again, but fails, as the Quirks within him are no longer following his commands. Bakugo is able to deliver what's likely to be the final blow, at last bringing down history's greatest villain. However, Bakugo acknowledges at the end of the chapter that he couldn't have done so alone , and that it was only thanks to the various opponents who had challenged All For One previously having weakened him enough that Bakugo could finish the job. In many ways, this is similar to how Gigantomachia was taken down in the final pages of the Paranormal Liberation War arc. It was only thanks to the efforts of everyone that Gigantomachia was finally brought down , a fact that radically altered the course of the battle and turned what would've been a savage loss into a costly victory. The story took a moment to iterate this fact after the villain went down, emphasizing that no one person deserves credit for Gigantomachia's defeat.

One year later, the Luminescent Baby was born, and Meta Abilities became more wide known and recognized, with a research group hypothesizing that a "novel disease" was to blame, announcing that those with Meta Abilities were subbranches of humanity with new genetic factors. This announcement caused many people to be divided, and chaos started to grow, with people without Meta Abilities waging war and terror against the ones with powers, and the latter doing the same.
