Lucy also led a team of seven chefs at the Bathers Pavilion in Balmoral. Born above a bakery in North Wales, Barry worked in the family business from the age of 14 after studying bakery, cake decoration and confectionery for three years. Barry also worked at The Savoy London where he met Mrs Jones , and this role took him to New York, France and Italy to work in Michelin star restaurants before moving to The Dorchester in London where Barry became the youngest executive head pastry chef in London at age The couple has continued to hone their craft, and Lucy was able to realise a lifelong dream in opening her first artisan bakery with Mrs Jones the Baker at Freshwater in Mrs Jones The Baker has all your meals, events — and cravings — covered with their extensive array of sourdough, individual cakes, celebration cakes, French patisserie, sweet and savoury pastries, tarts, scones, donuts and cruffins. They also have a range of tasty toasties, healthy luscious salads and delicious gelato. It is decadent, rich and amazingly, gluten free. There are no artificial additives or improvers with gluten, dairy, sugar and nut free as well as vegan and low sugar choices too. Our team of bakers and pastry chefs handcraft these delights at our local Freshwater bakery using traditional and modern methods based on learned techniques and hard work — with no corners cut and each item created from scratch.
