Munro's fiction is most often set in her native Huron County in southwestern Ontario. Her father, Robert Eric Laidlaw, was a fox and mink farmer, [11] and later turned to turkey farming. Munro began writing as a teenager, publishing her first story, "The Dimensions of a Shadow", in while studying English and journalism at the University of Western Ontario on a two-year scholarship. In , she left the university, where she had been majoring in English since , to marry fellow student James Munro. They moved to Dundarave, West Vancouver , for James's job in a department store.

Adam Bartosik's artistic journey in Victoria, BC, is a story of passion and evolution. Specializing in pen and ink, he has mastered a variety of techniques, employing fineliner, ballpoint, fountain pens, traditional dip pens, and even brushes dipped in ink. His decision to become a full-time artist over three years ago was driven by a desire for personal skill development and to inspire his three daughters with the power of self-taught abilities. Adam's diverse portfolio is showcased in four venues across Victoria and on his website, encompassing originals, prints, cards, stickers, and apparel like t-shirts and hoodies. His art is deeply influenced by his love for Victoria, a city he's embraced as home for twenty years. Transitioning from a career in the hospitality industry, where he ascended from a dishwasher to a general manager, Adam has now fully immersed himself in the art world, bringing his unique perspective to every piece he creates.
