Musescore delete staff

My score attached is based on the SATB choral template.

I've created some parts with Ossia staff at the top. Currently, I like the layout the way it is, and I am just wondering if there is a way I can delete the ossia staff without changing the layout. Currently the behavior is obviously , when I delete the extra staff, the main staff fills in the extra space. But I'm wondering if I can keep it the way it is after ossia deletion. Thank you.

If you really want to remove stafes, not measures, if the latter see above kuwitt: multiple measures is not the same thing as a staff. In reply to Press I, select the staff to by Jojo-Schmitz. Hello, Jojo I need to remove only the first staff to make more space to write the vocal. This vocal dose not need be on any staff! When I press "I", it opens the Instrument window. I am not able to select only the staff! If you come up with other way to maybe move all of staffs down. It could work too :- Regards. You score only has one straff - if you deleted it, there would be no staff at all, no way to write notes. It hard to tell from just a picture, but if you're saying you just wanted room to add something new, you don't start by deleting anything at all - just add the thing you want. If you want to add another staff for vocal, just add it, and make sure it's above the existing staff. Or if you mean you want to add a frame for text above the first system of your score, just add that.

I'm trying to delete measures in the middle of a piece, on a grand staff. I've tried all the right-click and menu bar options, and nothing works. I ended up moving everything from that point to the end of the piece up four measures to fill the empty measures, then removed empty trailing measures, but that's not really a viable workaround. You can change the appearance of a staff mid-score by adding a Staff type change element to a measure, and adjusting its properties in the Inspector. When you alter a Staff type change property in the Inspector, the new value takes precedence over the value shown in the global Staff properties dialog. Only those property values in "Staff Properties" that cannot be changed in the "Staff type change" dialog will be valid throughout the score. The properties that can be altered in the Staff type change dialog in the Inspector are:. Offset How far the changed staff shall be moved up or down: measured in spaces abbr. Scale Changes the size of the staff and all associated elements, as a percentage. Line distance The distance between two staff lines, measured in spaces abbr. Generate time signatures Whether the staff time signature s will be shown or not. Generate key signatures Whether the staff key signatures will be shown or not.

To delete a staff from an instrument: If there are no staves visible under the instrument label, click the small black triangle to the left of the label to reveal them Click on the staff label Click the Trash can icon at the top of the instruments panel, or press Delete. There's no need to artificially add space to add ossia via screen shots - MuseScore adds space automatically. Marc, indeed i'd like to experiment with different ossia input - such as screen shots. Part has multiple meanings, as has voice. Had another go and have updated the file making some changes; see below. Attachment Size test-removal. I've just installed MuseScore 4 today, and I noticed that unlike MuseScore 3, the ability to remove a single stave from a group of staves Ex: 1 staff of a synthesizer when 2 staves are the default in the instrument selection was removed from MuseScore 4. Thanks a lot - this was super helpful. At one place in the score bars 49 to 80 I have a flute duet using the Soprano and Alto staves. Best regards Mac.
