While all the show's cakes, mini cakes, and cupcakes have delivered in design, a few have stood out as some of the most delicious-looking sweet treats ever on the show. The professionally designed cakes and cupcakes that appear on the show almost always incorporate the use of fondant or modeling chocolate to create detailed and intricate creations. In the prehistoric-themed episode of season 3, the Baker's Choice challenge went one step further and added some internal design elements as well. If it wasn't already a challenge to create the cavemen characters, the contestants also had to incorporate a coordinating animal print on the inside of the cake. Essentially they were marbled cakes, but something about the intentional design made it seem all the more enticing. Maybe one of the most iconic Nailed It! Its eye-catching decorative elements had the cake finding its way onto a lot of the season's promo material and into homes across the country for fantasy-themed parties, but the cake's inside was even better. Five layers of cake were meant to be added to create the masterpiece and while few were able to match up the decorations with the inspiration and only one baker accomplished a standing cake, the intended rainbow layers looked like a bite of happiness. The delectable taste of unicorns and rainbows would've surely brought a smile to the face of people of all ages.

Reality cooking competition shows like " Masterchef " or " The Great British Baking Show " typically feature amateurs who perform at, or even above, the level professionals do. One series by Netflix has abandoned this formula to celebrate imperfection. Instead of making it seem like anyone, the viewer included, can expect perfection at home, the show highlights just how complicated Pinterest recipes usually are.

Last week, recognizing the early warning signs of a round of existential malaise, I parked myself in front of the TV for another emotionally restorative viewing. The absurdist, hilarious, occasionally incoherent series follows a standard cooking-competition format. In each episode, three contestants compete in progressively difficult challenge rounds for the chance at a cash prize. And disaster, right on cue, ensues: cakes topple, fondant cracks, chocolate burns, and rainbows of runny icing swirl together into muddy sugar swamps. A panel of judges—including the comedian Nicole Byer, dazzlingly charismatic, and the magnificent French chocolatier Jacques Torres—hoots with laughter, cringes in despair, and occasionally steps in to offer a little guidance.

Along with the anticipation of watching three average people try to emulate tasty tours de force, several baking tips are scattered throughout each episode. They typically pertain to the often wrong baking step the baker can be seen doing onscreen.

In season 3 of Nailed It! The complex design made for some interesting interpretations from the contestants but if executed correctly, the cake would have had the added element of mini macaroons and tea snacks. Things were bad from the start, because Chris, who would go on to win with his unicorn cake, couldn't seem to get anything right. The challenge was to make a Barbie doll cake, which is a challenge for home bakers everywhere, where the doll's bottom half is encased in a cake dress and icing. This contestant's recreation of the statue of David came out with noodle arms. Netflix series "Nailed It! The bakers were challenged to create an antigravity tea party cake that gave the illusion of a teapot floating in the air as it poured tea onto the cake.
