Headquartered at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine, the Battalion is comprised of six companies and 28 Recruiting Centers, stretching from the coast of Rhode Island to the Canadian border. Fort Meade, Maryland is the Army installation providing military pay services to the Battalion. The numerous lakes and beaches provide excellent fishing, boating, and swimming. Mountain areas offer an abundance of hiking, biking, and skiing trails and superb opportunities for camping and hunting.
