The Nike Epic React running shoe was first released 2 years ago, at the beginning of Nike was on a mission to find the perfect balance between soft cushioning and responsive energy return without the shoe being too heavy. According to Nike, their in-house chemists and mechanical engineers put Nike React technology through more than 2, hours of testing on the feet of basketball players to find this perfect combination. The one-piece Flyknit upper moulds to your foot and expands and contracts as needed, meaning there's plenty of space for your toes and no rubbing, chafing, or blisters. It's supportive, flexible and breathable which is perfect for longer runs.

I find the Epic slightly more cushioned especially at the forefoot but not nearly as lively as the Forever Energy. In terms of comparison to Beacon both Epic React and Forever are more cushioned at the heel, mainly as they have more stack there although don't have the exact Forever heel height with Beacon and Epic feeling about the same in terms of the cushion at the forefoot.

I would select the Epic if you want a steady very light daily trainer and the heavier Forever if you want a slightly more performance oriented feel especially up front. The Forever has considerably more outsole rubber than either of the others. Select Beacon if you want a more relaxed upper and more natural kind of feel, a bit harder to tame though.

I was really looking forward to this model. I have heard about Nike Epic React Flyknit 2 lots of positive reactions before ever wearing it and so I had many expectations. The React midsole, I never tried in any Nike shoes before. Those I already knew well from before. So what can I say about this model specifically… Nike Epic React Flyknit 2 in my opinion perfectly combines the best technologies from Nike. As a result of lightweight upper and higher quality React foam , you can look forward to great support for your middle length to longer length runs on every day base. And what else makes it so special?
