Ocarina of time water temple

Play the Serenade of Water to quickly warp over to Lake Hylia. Before entering the temple, there is one optional Gold Skulltula that we can collect, over at the Lakeside Laboratory.

Its original incarnation was incredibly tedious, forcing players to constantly hop in and out of the menu to swap Link's Iron Boots on and off, and its complex structure and length made it feel all the more burdensome. But beneath the annoyance hid the game's best dungeon, revealed by a few simple changes in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 's Nintendo 3DS remake. Within is a creature called Morpha, boss of the dungeon and the source of the curse that froze Zora's Domain. It's a twisted, multi-leveled maze that challenges players' spatial awareness, as they must use three switches hidden around the dungeon to manipulate the temple's water level, allowing them to access new areas throughout. In the original version of Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64 , the temple was a poorly lit mass of samey rooms, leading many players to aimlessly wander its corridors for a way forward. Constantly needing to jump into the game's menu to take the Iron Boots on or off - which was then followed by a slow floating or sinking to Link's destination - killed the dungeon's pacing, and some of its keys were so easily missed as to leave players feeling cheated.

Guarded by the Zoras , it is considered a sacred temple that is used to worship the water spirits. Aided with the boots and the Hookshot , Link can access its entrance by shooting the target above the gate. The Water Temple contains the source of the curse that has frozen Zora's Domain. Its enigmatic structure consists of various floors four in total, one of them is a basement and requires the use of playing Zelda's Lullaby at each of the special markings on the walls that manipulate the level of water, which give Link access to various parts of the temple from the hub room. Link will need to use all of his intellectual skills and cunning survival techniques to truly conquer this temple, as puzzles and obstacles are strategically varied: From the aforementioned water level manipulation, to swimming in presence of current flows, defeating enemy groups, climbing a waterfall with descending platforms, raise and lower pillars with a switch, etc. After defeating Dark Link, Link will find the Longshot which, once acquired, helps Link in the search for the Boss Key and enter the lair of the aquatic boss, Morpha. This temple is infamous to Ocarina of Time fans for its difficulty and necessity for constantly pausing the game in order to switch to the Iron Boots and back. When the game was remade for the 3DS, the temple was altered in order to be completed easily. The Iron Boots are now a click-on item, glowing markings appear on the wall to show the way, and the entire temple was made brighter. The Hookshot is also used more often than in the original version.

The Links must swim over to small platforms to attack them, or use the Water Rod to stun them and bring them closer. There is alternative strategy to make this a significantly faster battle. The Adventure of Link.

Ocarina of Time 3D. Longshot Gold Skulltula Tokens Hookshot Iron Boots. Heart Container Water Medallion. The Water Temple is the sixth dungeon in Ocarina of Time. It is widely considered to be one of the hardest, not because of skill needed to defeat the enemies or the boss within it, but because of its puzzle-like design and repetition to finally complete it. Completing the latter also gets Link the Serenade of Water warp song, which greatly speeds travel to Lake Hylia at the southernmost point of the map - the Triforce Pedestal at Lake Hylia is situated directly over the Water Temple, on the small island in the middle of the Lake. While not strictly essential, using a bottle of Blue Fire to unfreeze King Zora will have him give Link a free Zora Tunic , allowing him to remain underwater with the Iron Boots indefinitely and make aspects of the Water Temple much easier. To enter the Water Temple itself, Link should enter the lake - note that, until the Water Temple is cleared, the water level in Lake Hylia in Link's adulthood is greatly lowered - on the north side of the island with the Triforce Pedestal while wearing the Iron Boots, and use the hookshot on the locking bar over the door. The hookshot will pull it out, releasing the door to open and allowing Link to enter the Water Temple.
