Troubleshooting a P code Thread Tools. Hey everyone! Although I'm not opposed to replacing it, I was hoping to get a little help in troubleshooting it to make sure that it's not a wiring issue I've gotten CEL codes on two different occasions. The first time, I pulled the battery expecting the code to return -- and the car ran fine for about a month. Yesterday, it threw another code P , and after being cleared, the car ran fine. There's no guarantee that the first code was the same, but the car behaved exactly the same as this time. I drove it home, and parked it. I bought a sensor, but I'm leaving it in the bag until I troubleshoot it.
