The Patriots preseason came to a close on Sunday evening with a win over the New York Giants and now it's full steam ahead towards the regular season. The Patriots spent the bulk of the offseason retooling the roster by spending big in free agency and at the NFL Draft in hopes of improving from a campaign they endured in that found them on the outside looking in of the playoffs. With the exhibition season in the rearview mirror, it's now time for Bill Belichick and company to cut the roster down to Taylor , Brandon Bolden. What a difference an offseason makes, right? The most notable change for the Patriots offense comes at quarterback. Currently, Jones is the only QB on the roster, but the release of Brian Hoyer was likely a procedural move with him being re-signed after this roster is solidified. Meanwhile, New England dove headfirst into free agency and inked two of the top tight ends on the market to primetime deals.

As the preseason wages on, the New England Patriots are currently combing through their roster and determining who'll make the final grouping of 53 men that they'll start the season off with. Along with already having exhibitions in the books, Bill Belichick and his staff may have previously tipped their hand just a bit as to who has the inside track at making the team in their in-stadium scrimmage earlier in camp. Still, there's plenty of time between now and when New England will head down to Miami to face the Dolphins in Week 1 for players to state their case.
