Long before the Guardians of the Galaxy became cinematic superstars , Peter Quill had a very different origin story. Star-Lord was originally the son of King J'son of Spartax. However, J'son had a complex, contradictory history before he was drastically re-envisioned in Brian Michael Bendis and Steve McNiven's relaunched Guardians of the Galaxy When Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Here's a look back at both the comic and MCU version of Star-Lord's fathers and how they differed in Marvel's various universes.

Eventually, Peter swore off their criminal ways and the path of vengeance, becoming Star-Lord. J'son left Earth soon after conceiving Peter in order to continue his intergalactic war, leaving Meredith on Earth in order to protect her. Nine months later, Peter was born. For ten years, Quill was raised by Meredith, who remained a single mother but had help from her best friend Lisa Chang and her daughter Monica. Peter soon started developing a big interest in sci-fi shows and after a visit to an amusement park where he was impressed by the wonders of space, he decided he wanted to be an astronaut when he grew up. One day, Peter returned home, bruised from trying to stop a bully. As he was washing up for dinner, his house was visited by two Badoon aliens. Vowing to end the ' Spartax bloodline ', they killed Meredith. Peter grabbed a shotgun and managed to kill the aliens with it.

However, peter quill never lost his desire to become an astronaut, leave Earth and find the aliens that killed his mother. Using his own Helmet to pornopezones in deep space, peter quill, Star-Lord then flew outside the prison to the ship, where Drax the Destroyer was amazed by his brave efforts. You can't.
