PING Glide 4, ping wedges review. Once again, it is the best golf wedge for wet conditions and the best wedge for spin. By maintaining spin across the board, it leads to PING excelling in our consistency metric as well. It does underwhelm in accuracy, which ultimately crushes its overall performance.

The 80s and 90s was the Ping Eye 2 era. Every golfer had a Ping in their hands, and Bob Vokey was your uncle, not the designer of your wedge. When I was playing on Tour I was very lucky to have the support of Ping, and I played their Glide wedges right from the start. We are now up to the fourth generation of this wedge, but when they were first released I do remember wondering whether I was missing out on the short game department because I wasn't using a Vokey. From 50 yards out Ping wedges were good, but inside that range I felt like I was at a bit of a disadvantage.

Four meaningfully different soles. Excellent spin. Very forgiving and consistent. They overdeliver on consistency with a great looking all-business aesthetic. At address, you see a compact club face with a rounded toe and leading edge. As you change lofts, you will notice that the shape of the Glide 4. The lower lofted wedges look more iron-like with a shorter heel. As you get toward the higher lofts, the head becomes much more rounded. Above is a 54 degree wedge, roughly the middle of the range. In the bag, the Glide 4. The geometry of the elastomer insert is mirrored by a thin black line — the only ornamentation on the back of the club. Especially for a forgiving wedge, what stood out most to me is the excellent audio feedback from the PING Glide 4. On center, this wedge is very quiet. Strike the ball off-center and impact gets noticeably louder.

Factory balls forever

At the end of the season I did some analysis on where my game was at and what I wanted to do going forward. Our testing pool rates it highly for looks. Should have putted with the 58 as well It still humbles me to think about my beginnings in golf, and it brings an unbelievable amount of joy to be able to pass that gift on to someone else now that I can. I think it will be fairly easy after a little bit of practice to determine what my yardages would be when choking down to either of the two markings on the grip. TS3 8. I had adapted my game and swing to them, not the other way around. And I loved it! My concern is the long-term durability of the finish. I haven't played cavity back or GI clubs much aside from trying a friend's clubs once in a while. I have 2 sets of irons that I will rotate, depending on how I am feeling, so I will change wedges based on the set and the course conditions. Looking forward to it more reviews rolling in. The launch window was super consistent both inside and out on the golf course, even when I was going through a variety of different shots. As you can probably notice I got under it a bit. I would be highly likely to purchase these wedges both because of the uniqueness of the grip and the feel when swinging them.
