Loved the ship and all the destinations. Food was fantastic, plentiful and varied. The only negative we had was the flight.

Arvia is sister ship to Iona which launched in But despite the two 5,passenger cruise ships being structurally nearly identical, Arvia is by no means a carbon copy of Iona. The popularity of these amenities, however, has introduced some congestion to the top deck's wake pool area which tends to get crowded early on in the day. Thankfully the roof above its Sky Dome has been designed to retract, giving top decks an extra outdoor swimming pool. Inside there are differences, too. At the heart of Arvia's deck plan is the all-new and lighter Grand Atrium with three-storey glass walls filling the space with bright, widescreen sea views.

We had a great holiday to the Caribbean on Arvia. So good that we've booked to go again in two years' time. This was our first cruise and we had a wonderful time sailing on Arvia around the Caribbean. We loved the ship and we will definitely be booking more cruises going forward. The Arvia is a beautiful ship with lots of amenities, dining rooms and entertainment but in my opinion it is too big and I prefer the smaller ships.

We chose this cruise as the dates and itinerary fitted our circumstances, however we would not choose a ship this big again unless the itinerary was fantastic. We only booked at 2 weeks notice and were very disappointed to find that most of the popular shore excursions were already sold out, and that those available cannot be bought with onboard spend allowance prior to boarding, a conversation with P and O customer services about this was very abrupt. Embarkation at Southampton and car parking was excellent, we arrived in the terminal exactly on time and were in our cabin 35 minutes later bit surprised that only passports and boarding passes were checked and not the health insurance, EHIC or Covid certificates. Cabins were OK but surprisingly small for a big ship and lacked any drawers and we were unable to fully unpack never had this before on a cruise, even on smaller ships.
