Pong's Poutine 6. I think pongs poutine kimchi is better than it used to be. As I'm not personally a fan of slow-cooker style pulled pork, it's hard for me to love this dish but hey it's poutine! The lamentably unphotogenic chili poutine is the most delicious special poutine they make, pongs poutine.

Their regular menu is mostly standard chip wagon fare, but their daily specials mix things up with the likes of pad Thai, Thanksgiving poutine, satay chicken, and more! On the day we were there, a hot chicken sandwich was the deal of the day, so I went with that, while my wife got the cheeseburger combo, with the fries upgraded to a poutine. Did I need a sandwich slathered in piping hot gravy? Did I still order it? After a short wait in their sitting area with picnic tables and umbrellas, we soon had our hefty containers of food in hand. My sandwich was just about everything you could want from a hot chicken sammy — a flavourful, generous portion of chicken gravy, lots of moist and tender chicken, and soft white bread to absorb all that gravy goodness. Pro moves!

The fried part fell right off the meat, and the lack of spice coupled with the white gravy made for a filling but unsatisfying meal.

I have been shopping at Lavergne Western Beef for over 10 years now and I have yet to receive poor service or a poor cut of meat. My favourite Always the home of best fish and chips in Ottawa. The deserts are amazing the staff wonderful and friendly.

Compared to my review of see: ottawafoodies. If I had one complaint, it's that the curds were still pretty cold and didn't melt in all that smoothly along the top. I lived within walking distance of this place for about 20 years and I've eaten their food about 5 times or less. I didn't detect much salt on the fries and it certainly was not needed. The fries weren't as crispy as I like but the gravy was decent and the cheese was in very good supply. After a short wait in their sitting area with picnic tables and umbrellas, we soon had our hefty containers of food in hand. I tend to agree with the other posters, if you are looking for a traditional poutine then this is not the place for you. First is the Bite This version. She brought out a little sauce cup of fries for our toddler to eat on his own which worked out well because I didn't want to share the poutine. Did I still order it?
