There are two gunshows coming up that i have decided to attend. I have very limited experience at Illinois gun shows or actually, any gun shows. There is one nexy weekend at Princeton and then the following weekend at peoria. I went to the Princeton show a couple of years ago and started to buy a Marlin lever action and when I asked about the waiting period, the seller who had a table got quite belligerent about my question and refused to sell to me. For several years now, non-dealers making sales at gun shows must make a special FTIP call, and the buyer and seller are still forced to observe a gun-sales-punitive-period.

I've been to this show several times,but I was surprised to see the line to get in was so long! Half an hour the after the doors opened, the line stretched across the two exhibit buildings, around the corner, and halfway down the length of the second exhibit building. I'm glad the line moved quickly! I waited in line about fifteen minutes, but it was awfully cold! Dressed in my IllinoisCarry hat and t-shirt, and armed with a fistful of IllinoisCarry raffle tickets, I shuffled my way through the crowd. I ran in to some old friends and made some new friends. A lot of people noticed my IllinoisCarry attire and asked me the status the the fight to bring Right-To-Carry to Illinois, and I was more than happy to bring them up to date, and invited them to visit our website. I was personally a little disappointed that I hadn't sold more tickets, but I can't blame people who politely declined to buy one, given the economy. I stopped at the gun counter and checked out his wares. After chatting for a bit, I told the owner I had been selling raffle tickets at the gun show today. But she did say, "tell Frank hello!
