It was a heartwarming show of support this past week, as volunteers from Purolator, Food for Life and The Salvation Army food banks in Milton collected 3, pounds of donated food and delivered it to the food banks. Volunteers dropped off 2, red bags on doorsteps in select areas of the community, and residents generously filled the bags with non-perishable food to help their neighbours facing hunger. The donations collected during this campaign will go a long way to help feed those facing food insecurity in Milton. This was the third year in a row Purolator Tackle Hunger ran a Red Bag campaign in Milton, bringing the total amount raised for local Milton food banks to over 6, pounds of food to date. Last year, we increased it to bags, and this year, we took it to the next level by dropping off 2, bags with a team of volunteers.
