At the age of eighteen, Kota met the Jedi Mace Windu , who had been dispatched to the planet to end the conflict peacefully. In 19 BBY , when Order 66 was issued—an emergency contingency that ordered the clone forces to terminate their Jedi commanders, who had been deemed a threat to the Republic —Kota survived the slaughter of his fellow Jedi since there were no clone troopers serving with him.

Star Wars fans watching the Obi-Wan Kenobi series may have noticed plenty of references and Easter eggs throughout the series, one of which brought an iconic video game character into the franchise's current canon. While some references made throughout the show simply created more continuity for certain pre-existing characters, others tied in Legends characters that hadn't yet been brought back into the fold by Disney. For fans of the video games set in the Star Wars universe, this could lead to the reintroduction of a beloved Jedi. In the third episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi , the titular character finds himself in a safe house that had previously been used by many of Star Wars ' other Jedi survivors as they attempted to escape from the clutches of the Empire. While there, Obi-Wan examines several messages that have been inscribed on the walls, presumably by previous tenants. He mentions Quinlan Vos by name, but many other etchings can be seen around the room. The writings are in Aurebesh, Star Wars ' most common writing system, so most viewers wouldn't be able to read them at a glance, but Star Wars ' official trivia gallery confirmed the identities of many of the names. Among the characters mentioned, perhaps most exciting is the inclusion of Rahm Kota, the iconic Jedi Master. In the wake of his introduction, Rahm Kota quickly became one of Star Wars Legends' most iconic video game characters , and went on to appear in several other titles that expanded on his character and backstory, weaving him into the fabric of the original and prequel trilogies, and truly setting him apart as a Jedi. Unfortunately, when Disney reset the Star Wars canon, Kota faded from the limelight along with many other beloved characters and stories. Now, however, Kota is confirmed to exist, even if in name only, in Star Wars' new canon, and could potentially return in the future. After being confronted, and subsequently blinded, by Galen Marek, he would eventually take his attacker on as his apprentice.
Grey had been killed years earlier by X1, the other of Grey's "sons," and X2 had been wounded by his brother while attempting to save Grey. On Starkiller's urging, rahm kota, Kota dispatched troops to defend the reactor.
The Jedi has 14 joints, including a ball-jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, knees and ankles. There are swivel joints in both underarms, the waist and both legs. There are no balancing issues, but if you prefer to place the figure on a stand you can use the one which Hasbro included. Besides a stand, Hasbro included a green lightsaber, a removable bandolier with holster on the back, 2 removable soft goods capes and a removable chest armor with the figure. Kota can hold the lightsaber with both hands tightly, and it's also a good fit for the holster on the back. However, why a Jedi Master would carry an ignited lightsaber like this on his back is anybody's guess. The bandolier and the chest armor fit both well and compliment the figure nicely.
At the age of 18 Rahm Kota was discovered on his homeworld by Jedi Master Mace Windu who was impressed with his skill as a warrior. As he matured, he became known for his courage and became a well respected general during the Clone Wars. After the Clone Wars ended, the Empire set in motion their infamous Order 66, which decreed that all Jedi must be hunted down and exterminated. In the face of certain death, Kota and and a froup of followers fled to the Outer Rim territories and set up a base near in a TIE fighter construction yard over Nar Shaddaa. In order to exterminate the elusive Jedi, Darth Vader sent Galen Marek, his secret apprentice to hunt him down. Marek was eventually able to find the aged Jedi and engaged him in intense lightsaber combat. During the battle, Kota claimed to be able to see the young Secret Apprentice's future and claimed that his future would not always be by Vader's side. This infuriated Marek who was able to badly injure Kota and send him falling hundreds of miles to his doom to the surface of Nar Shadda. However, Kota somehow survived the fall and, although blind, was later able to meet Marek again and form a close bond which would lead the Secret Apprentice to reject the Dark Side and embrace his bloodline.

During the development of The Force Unleashed , once the concept of having the player control a character that was Darth Vader's secret apprentice was settled on, it was realized that Jedi opponents would be needed for him to go up against. Despite having come to believe that the Empire was unbeatable and nothing that they could do would ever defeat it, Kota agreed to help the apprentice, noting that he had a friend in the Senate who could use his lightsaber. Ultimately, X2 managed to best Fett and rendezvoused with Kota at the Imperial base.

As Starkiller falls, Kota engages the Dark Apprentice in a brief lightsaber duel. Palpatine was actually a Sith Lord operating under the name Darth Sidious, and the entire war was part of an elaborate plan to destroy the Jedi Order and have the Sith rule the galaxy. All in all, it's a well done, super articulated Rahm Kota figure, which should please fans of The Force Unleashed video game.
