An artistically talented Pokemon fan has created their own design of a future Paradox form for the classic Legendary Raikou. The artist decided to post their creation online, which comes complete with its own statistics as well as some homebrewed background lore. Raikou is a Legendary Electric-type Pokemon introduced as part of Pokemon 's second generation. Raikou is one-third of the trio known as the Legendary Beasts who, along with Entei and Suicune, were resurrected by Ho-Oh after the burning of Brass Tower. Raikou had largely been out of the spotlight until its extremely divisive Paradox form, Raging Bolt, was recently revealed. While a decidedly unorthodox design, a piece of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fan art actually predicted Paradox Raikou. The impressive future Paradox form concept art comes from Reddit user PhatmonMonstraros, who posted their work to one of the site's primary Pokemon forums.

After first being teased in Scarlet and Violet 's respective books with sketches of amalgamated forms of the series' Swords of Justice and Legendary Beasts, the initial reveal of Virizion's and Suicune's Paradox forms was met with confusion since neither seemed to match what had been teased. But now with Iron Crown and Raging Bolt, these sketches have a new context. Between anticipating that these Paradox Pokemon would be a combined trio to the introduction of Iron Leaves and Walking Wake, it was unclear whether Scarlet and Violet 's sketches were red herrings , especially when the two were added before any DLC and not during. The reveal of Paradox forms for Cobalion and Raikou, however, and confirmation that they would become available with The Teal Mask portion of the DLC has revived previous fan theories. With a second part of the DLC also in Scarlet and Violet 's future and with Terrakion and Entei left in their trios, it seems that there are two more Paradox Pokemon yet to come. Though they weren't the exclusive focus of the latest trailer and the breakdown of what to expect for Scarlet and Violet 's DLC, the revealed designs of Paradox Cobalion and Raikou were met with mixed reactions, especially for Raikou's giraffe-like neck. Regardless, their addition to Scarlet and Violet alongside their predecessors Iron Leaves and Walking Wake has given players a better perspective on the short-term future of Paradox Pokemon. So while these new Ancient and Future forms have focused mainly on Legendary Pokemon, this could still hold potential for new Paradox forms based on more standard Pokemon either in Gen 9 or beyond. The renewed interest in Paradox Pokemon alongside their association with Scarlet and Violet 's DLC does suggest a deeper connection to the bigger picture of the mysterious Area Zero. Coupled with the showcase adding a montage of historic sketches of expedition crews and the strange cave markings that have left players scratching their heads, Game Freak's plan seems to be building towards a grand finale in Area Zero and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This is only strengthened by rumors about future Pokemon projects that could be announced as the follow-up to Scarlet and Violet. But beyond Game Freak's future Pokemon games, the recent reveal of Iron Crown and Raging Bolt seems to confirm a much simpler suspicion among fans, which is that there will be two more Paradox forms added for Terrakion and Entei. Now that they are essentially the remaining Legendary Pokemon of their respective trios - albeit with the exception of Keldeo - it is believed that in the near future Game Freak will introduce another two Paradox Pokemon.

Nintendo and Game Freak gave us a much better look at what to expect from both of them during its latest Pokemon Presents showcase , including new characters, new features like gym leader rematches and minigames, as well a few new Pokemon reveals. However, one of these Pokemon is drawing a lot more attention than the others. It was only shown off in the trailer for the briefest of moments, but a new Paradox form for Raikou was revealed called Raging Bolt. It's a little bit different, and that's putting it pretty mildly. It's main feature is its long, goofy neck, which has seemingly been done so that Raikou now resembles a Brachiosaurus. Suicune underwent a similar transformation earlier this year, changing from a graceful dog into a hulking T-Rex shaped creature called Walking Wake. It's so goofy that Pokemon fans have immediately gone about bullying the poor creature for its new form, quickly drawing up all kinds of silly fan art and memes ripping on its absurdly long neck.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is adding a Paradox Raikou with players getting their first look at the new Pokemon today during August's Pokemon Presents event. Gone is the lion-like posture of the Legendary Electric Pokemon that first appeared in Pokemon Gold and Silver with the Scarlet and Violet Paradox version instead turning Raikou into something more akin to a giraffe. The new version of the pokemon has so far been called "Giraffe Raikou," "Long-Neck Raikou," and other names, though it seems sentiment is split when it comes to what people actually think of the new Paradox Pokemon's design. Around 3 minutes into the trailer below, you'll see a closeup of Raging Bolt before it zooms out to show his giraffe-like build. It wasn't said during the Pokemon Presents event how, exactly, players would be able to get their hands on this Raikou-inspired Paradox Pokemon, but given that it was shown in the trailer and the description of the video said it'd show off "the people and Pokemon you'll meet" in the upcoming DLC, it's looking so far like you'll have to have The Teal Mask if you want to encounter this Pokemon. For context, that's different from how the Suicune-inspired Paradox Pokemon called "Walking Wake" was added to the game. Walking Wake was instead available via a Tera Raid event, so it's possible Raging bolt will be distributed the same way whether it's locked to the DLC or not. So, how are people feeling about Paradox Raikou right now?
